Places to explore:

Consumed by wanderlust, these posts are a collection of my journey through life, the things experienced, places explored, spaces enveloped and senses heightened.

The Road Less Traveled

In the summer of 2010, me, my friends, Donna, Patrick and their cat Louis took a road trip from Boston to Denver, Colorado*. I actually documented our trip back then but the blog was never saved and I lost most of my writings. A few weeks back, I was cleaning out one of my hard drives and found photos from the trip that I never did got to share. Some, I recently posted on my Instagram feeds, others are still hidden in the vault somewhere, waiting to be re-discovered. It's a funny thing, memories, they are intangible information but when they are documented, you can almost feel its physical presence. In the next few write-ups, I'll be reliving the experience we had. Though it may have been almost 6 years ago, I believed it deserves the exposure as it once had.

Just as an overview of the trip, there were options of different route from Boston to Denver but we ended up with the Northern Route, practically all along I90. This was mainly because Donna was from Chicago and it gave us an opportunity to visit family and friends before settling down in Denver. It took us about 12 days (approximately) in total and we decided to camp along the way. I don't think we did any impromptu destinations (expect for Sturgis*), but we did however decided we wanted to spend a few days at Yellowstone National Park before our final destination at Denver. So on August 7th 2010, we left Boston at the crack of dawn.

Next stop: New York - The Empire State

* Patrick got accepted to CU Denver College of Architecture and Planning and both were moving to the mid-west.

*For those who've never heard or been to Sturgis (I certainly didn't), it's a small town in South Dakota but the annual Motorcycle Rally attracts a big crowd of motorcyclists from across the country to this sleepy town.
