Places to Explore

Places to explore:

Consumed by wanderlust, these posts are a collection of my journey through life, the things experienced, places explored, spaces enveloped and senses heightened.

Rebirth

Actually this post was supposed to go live a few weeks ago, but there's been some issue with the local internet (if you can see from my tweets, I've been complaining to the local network provider about the disruption) and they just fixed the line a few days ago.

Anyhow, I’m still so bummed that I never got to properly backup, archive or whatever method you try to save your previous writings, images and other contents when I moved my domain. Well, shit happens as they say, but fortunately, I still have old backups from my Blogger account. Those were the more important posts, or rather the reason I started blogging. With the growing popularity of instant posts (including my own posting on Instagram), I feel that I’ve lost touch with writing, and this dates back to almost 8 years ago when I started my Blogger account to prepare for my trip to Europe. Lots have happened these past 8 years, and I seriously don’t know where to began. Well, there’s graduation from architecture school (Hooray! … insert emotionless emoji here), moving back to Malaysia and spending quality time with family, yet lost my dearest friend - my mum (insert sad face emoji) to a battle of lung cancer, sisters got married, travelled back to the US, yearly trip to London, got in touch with some long lost friends, had an amazing trip to Angkor Wat, and just recently became an uncle to the cutest boy ever. Oh, and yeah, there’s work … (insert restless emoji). I think it’s time to revive, or rather resuscitate this blogging, mainly for a couple reason. One, I have a five year travel plan (hope to do it in less, but within this five years) and that is to do a South American trip. Secondly, I’ve been having a really bad creative block for the past year or so and I need to channel it out somewhere. Digging photos from my travels 8 years ago, looking up and reading my archived travel blog from back them brought back some found memories, and it’s just, why not. Why not indeed …
